A mastery of rhythm, gained from his background as a dancer, enables the artist born Ahmed Ololade to stylishly craft hooks, splash ad-libs, and infuse lingo into these infectious sounds. Wielding deftly crafted Yoruba lyricism, Asake melodically traverses sprightly Afropop (“Lady”), choral soundscapes (“Peace Be Unto You [PBUY]” and “Baba God”), and juju-infused instrumentation (“Mr Money”).
