Black Uhuru feat Sly & Robbie with Mykal Rose – Live in Argentina

Listen on Apple Music

Few reggae trios this side of The Wailers could offer more stirring harmonies than Black Uhuru. Though the group had many incarnations, the most celebrated one was formed when founder Duckie Simpson and lead singer Michael Rose added U.S.-born singer Sandra “Puma” Jones; they also had rhythm legends Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare as auxiliary members. 1984’s Anthem won the first GRAMMY® Award for a reggae album. Black Uhuru were also embraced by the rock world, with both The Rolling Stones and The Police bringing them on tour. The group continues with Simpson as the one consistent member.
