Lynyrd Skynyrd Tickets   Lynyrd Skynyrd was one of the defining acts of the 1970s Southern rock scene. Its country-style lyrics set to driving rock and blues rhythms gave its downhome sound an edge that drew in their Dixie-root fans and Northern audiences alike. It was songwriter Ronnie Van Zant’s ability to craft powerful rock anthems that made the band a staple of stadium rock. In 1973, Free Bird, featuring one of the greatest guitar solos in rock history, reached number nineteen on the Billboard charts and became an encore staple in Lynyrd Skynyrd’s live show. A year later, the group that formed in Jacksonville, Florida, followed up with their biggest hit, Sweet Home Alabama. Unfortunately, in 1977, at the height of their success, three members of the band died in an airplane crash in Mississippi. Unable to go on, Lynyrd Skynyrd broke up. It took ten years, but Lynyrd Skynyrd went back on tour, with Johnny Van Zant taking on his brother’s role as lead singer and the dynamic guitar work of founding member Gary Rossington continuing to delight their fans. More than twenty years later, Lynyrd Skynyrd remains on tour, captivating audiences with their unique blend of Southern country rock.
