Born in Philadelphia, Hart attended George Washington High School and Temple University, making rounds in comedy clubs in the Philly area. The audiences loved Hart, and as he fine-tuned his act his popularity grew, eventually quitting his job as a shoe salesman to pursue comedy full-time.
